Kangaroos are the only large animal that use hopping as a locomotion (way to get around). A kangaroos fastest hopping speed is, 20-25 mph. Hopping is faster and easier for animals than running or walking. Hopping is an easy way to find food or water. To go slow they make a tripod with there limbs and tails and walk like that. Kangaroos are also good at swimming. They can flee into water to get away from a predator, which then, the kangaroo can use its forepaws to drown the predator under water.
